ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Lisianthus is a photograph by artist Carolyn MacKay. She created this abstracted composition of the Lisianthus flower by shooting through a rippled glass vase. Her experimentation with this method of distortion grew into a portfolio of abstract flower images. These artworks illustrate the dramatic forms that can be found in the simplest of flowers.
