ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Homage to the Phone is a still-life painting by artist Fred-Sodt which uses light and shadow to create a realistic illusion of volume and space. Sodt notes that he composed the objects in this piece to "trigger memories and the imagination" in the viewer.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bellingham, Washington-based artist Fred Sodt creates realistic still-life paintings. Sodt received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham (Northwestern Washington) and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Central Washington University in Ellensburg. He has taught art at Skagit Valley College, Whatcom Community College, and other institutions around Washington State.
