Creative Districts Program Application

Please note: beginning on January 1, 2024, we are not accepting new Creative District applications for the remainder of FY 2024.

We will accept new applications beginning on July 1, 2024, for FY 25. Applications from communities that were in process before December 31, 2024 will be accepted during this time.


Once you’ve created a plan for your District, you can apply for Creative District Certification.

Please review the following steps to make sure you are ready to apply. We will not accept incomplete applications.

  1. Make sure your community meets the minimum requirements. Review Application Guidelines to learn more about the application process. Please note that a list of the questions in the application are included in the application guidelines.
  2. Schedule an official site visit of your potential district with Annette Roth, Community Development Manager. If your planning team makes changes to the district boundary after this visit, but before you submit your application, you MUST schedule another site visit.
  3. Submit a Letter of Interest to the program manager. We outline letter requirements in the Application Guidelines.
  4. After we approve your Letter of Interest, you have 60 calendar days to submit a full application. Your official site visit must take place before submitting the application.

You must submit your application through ArtsWA’s online application form. After you have submitted your letter of interest and are approved to apply, we will send you the link to the application. We will not accept applications in any other format.
