Arts Education: Celebrating All Arts Disciplines

Dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. Washington State learning standards define the arts as these five disciplines. Together the arts open us to new ways of understanding and participating with the world. They are a fundamental part of a well-rounded education. Each discipline engages our creativity in unique ways. They are present in diverse forms among cultures around the world.

To celebrate Arts Education month, we are pleased to present a selection of artworks in the State Art Collection. These artworks are inspired by and illustrate elements from each arts discipline.
