ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Rudy Autio created this large-scale ceramic mural. It features two separate elements and is made of over 200 handmade tiles in assorted sizes and shapes. All together, they form a colorful and abstracted composition. There is a sense of movement and interaction among the many horse figures. Autio created this artwork for Blue Ridge Elementary in 1983. It was originally installed in the school’s main entry but was moved in 2020 when the building became the Walla Walla Center for Children and Families.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with .
