ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Tacoma, WA/Yellowstone, WY is part of artist Carla Fraga's "Anywhere Series." The series pairs compositionally similar landscape images geographically separated by thousands of miles. These abstractions invite viewers to think about how graphic qualities like shape, color, and form influence our perception of place. She notes, "The project began as a reaction against the travel photography genre, wherein one visits a remote or exotic place, photographs it and returns home with the image 'trophies.'"
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with .
