Panels ensure that the community is integral when ArtsWA distributes resources across the state. Arts WA seeks panelists from all parts of the state with a diversity of experiences and expertise in varying artistic fields. Serving as a panelist for ArtsWA’s Community Investment Program offers an incredible opportunity to learn more about the Washington state art economy and how it is supported by local communities. It also allows the community to learn more about the grant writing process.

When asked if they would recommend others apply to serve as an ArtsWA Panelist, FY24 panelists responded:

Absolutely! Very gratifying service! As somebody who works for Artists, this has given beautiful insight into the needs of the individual Artist, but also serves as a reminder that Artists, their crafts and supporting their work is so valuable to the overall health of our communities.

I appreciated the opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of Washington’s flourishing arts organizations. I stand in awe of Washington’s creative communities. They are a powerhouse of energy, resilience’s, and imagination.

ArtsWA will pay panelists based on the number of panels they serve on. Each panel reviews 40 applications. Panelists can serve on up to two (2) panels in a grant cycle (March- June).
