Milestone: 50% of reflectors have been replaced. The construction crew has completed sixteen of Circle of Light’s twenty-four sections. Approximately 30,000 reflectors have been applied to the building’s concrete tension ring! The crew is making good time, especially when they can access panels from scaffolding. The scaffolding allows three workers to install the reflectors simultaneously.

We thank the Washington State Legislature for approving funding for the restoration in 2021. Restoration at this scale would not be possible without the support of the state legislature and their commitment to the health of Washington’s State Art Collection.

We’re following the restoration of Richard C. “Dick” Elliott’s Circle of Light (1992) in Yakima, which had fallen into disrepair in the decades since its installation.
