ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Landscape Vase Winter is part of ceramic artist Carol Gouthro's series of hand-built ceramic vases that explore landscape imagery in vibrant colors and complex detail. In this piece, branches and leaves overlap to create the illusion of depth. She notes, "the overall feeling that I am trying to evoke in Winter is one of stark beauty and simplicity, with bare branches against a grey and white sky."
